Javi Chacón, or simply Chacón, is a singer-songwriter and musical producer from Cienfuegos, Cuba. Coming from a family of musicians and pianist since the age of 7, he took part in several of the great orchestras of Havana such as Pachito Alonso, Manolín El Médico de la Salsa, among others. Based in Montreal since 2015, he has shared the stage with several local and international groups and artists which led him to perform on the stages of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, the Festival des Rythmes du Monde in Chicoutimi, the Cuban Festival of St-Sauveur, Montreal en Lumières, among others. Through its various traditional and modern musical inspirations, his recent solo project Chacón, combines Latin Pop style with a touch of Urban / Soul / RnB / Tropical, becoming an unforgettable summer soundtrack that transports us to a pink sunset of Miami or L.A.
DJ Rhythm Hues (Parker Mah)
As a DJ, he has been sharing his offbeat selections for over a decade, setting dancefloors alight in places as far-flung as Mexico City, Cotonou and Hong Kong. Co-founder of the Tumbao DJ collective, his specialty spans the afro-latin-brazilian-caribbean spectrum, with a predilection for vinyl. His passion, honed during his 15+ years as a radio host and producer, is to broaden and share his interest in the socio-cultural legacy of these musics, and the stories they tell of migration and cross-pollination.
